This is a great way to introduce your company to your followers and give them a behind the scenes look into how the company operates. This will put consumers on a more personal level with your business, as they can learn about different employees that takeover the Snapchat account, and gain a better understanding as to how your business functions. Your followers will be able to quickly and visually learn new things about what your business offers, leaving a lasting impression in which they will return to learn more.

2. Post incentives and discounts

If you are looking to attract more people into your business, you can use Snapchat to post discount offers or incentives. An example of this could be to post an image that says “screenshot this Snapchat and show it to us the next time you visit to receive 10% off your purchase.” As this offer spreads by word of mouth, more consumers will choose to add your business onto the list of accounts they are following to take advantage of this offer. Upon doing so, this has the potential to lock them in as followers to view future posts and become apart of your consumer base.

3. Hold contests and sweepstakes for your followers

In a similar manner to posting a discount for your followers, you can also hold special contests through the Snapchat story feature that make it easy for you to determine a winner. A popular method of doing so is by posting a series of images with the details of the giveaway or prize, and then posting the rules. An easy way of doing this could be posting something like “the 50th user to screenshot this story will win.” Because snapchat tells a user who has screenshotted a post on their story, the contest holder would just have to count up from the bottom to see who was the lucky winner was. You can then upload a picture with the contest winner when they claim their prize, acting as a motivator for your followers to keep up to date with your Snapchat account.

4. Document and showcase anticipated product reveals

If your business is one that creates new products, or even holds special events, a great way to keep your followers in the loop is by documenting these with your Snapchat account. Since Snapchat stories are posted in real time, you can show your followers what’s happening in real time. This is a great way for your customers to be aware of new things happening with your business.

5. Host live demos of new products

In addition to revealing new products through your Snapchat story account, you can even post videos of demos of your products. Consumers will be able to see exactly what the product does and learn more about it. Some major businesses that are using Snapchat to do this will also bring in a local celebrity to draw more attention to the social media channel. Personally, this is my favorite thing that businesses do with snapchat, and that is creating custom geotags to advertise their business. A geotag is a Snapchat filter that users can put on their photos or videos when they are within the boundaries the filter is set for based on their geographical location. This isn’t free, however, and is a paid feature of Snapchat that businesses can take advantage of. When creating a filter, you are going to want one that is visually pleasing to the user, promotes your business, and sparks interest. 7. Create an advertisement for your audience

Another paid feature of Snapchat that businesses can use are to actually create and purchase advertising space. This will require you to create a 10-second ad or commercial for your business, which you can do easily with services like Animoto. Out of all of the ways to use Snapchat to promote your business, this is definitely one of the most effective but is also one of the most expensive, so keep that in mind when considering this option.
